Effective Date: October 1, 2026
These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of the KSI Law website. Please read them carefully.
The website at www.ksi.law, including its pages, content, forms and any online payment or account functions (the "Website"), is operated by KSI Law Professional Corporation ("KSI Law", "we", "us" or "our"). By accessing or using the Website, you agree to these Terms of Use (the "Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the Website.
KSI Law is a professional corporation whose lawyers are licensed by the Law Society of Ontario. Where we act in matters outside Ontario, we do so in accordance with the rules governing interprovincial practice or in association with counsel licensed in the relevant jurisdiction. Content on the Website is published in accordance with the Law Society of Ontario’s Rules of Professional Conduct.
The content on the Website is provided for general information only. It is not legal advice, may not reflect the most recent legal developments, and may not apply to your circumstances or to the law of your province or territory. You should not act, or refrain from acting, on the basis of the Website’s content without obtaining legal advice about your particular situation.
Your use of the Website, and any communication you send to us through it or by email, telephone or otherwise, does not create a lawyer-client relationship. A lawyer-client relationship is formed only when KSI Law has completed its conflict-of-interest and client identification procedures and has confirmed in writing, ordinarily by a signed retainer agreement or engagement letter, that it has agreed to act for you.
Until we have confirmed that we will act for you, please do not send us confidential or time-sensitive information. Information you send before then may not be treated as confidential or privileged and will not prevent us from acting for another person, including a person whose interests are adverse to yours. Please be aware that limitation periods may apply to your matter; contacting us does not stop any limitation period from running.
KSI Law acts for creditors and other clients in the recovery of amounts owed to them. If you have received a letter, call, email or text message from us about an account, please note:
If you are unsure whether a communication claiming to be from KSI Law is genuine, please contact us directly using the contact information on the Website rather than any contact information provided in the communication.
Where the Website enables you to make a payment or view or manage an account, you agree to provide accurate information and to use those functions only for an account that you are entitled to pay or manage. Payments are processed by a third-party payment processor and are applied to the account you identify. A settlement, payment arrangement or other variation of an account is binding only when confirmed in writing by KSI Law on behalf of our client. We may refuse, reverse or suspend a transaction where we reasonably suspect error, fraud or unauthorized use.
You agree to use the Website only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:
The Website and its content, including text, graphics, logos, trademarks, design and software, are owned by or licensed to KSI Law and are protected by Canadian and international intellectual property laws. You may view, download and print content from the Website for your own personal, non-commercial use, provided you do not modify it and you retain all copyright and other proprietary notices. Any other use, including reproduction, distribution, republication, framing or the creation of derivative works, requires our prior written consent.
The Website may contain links to websites operated by others, including courts, government bodies and other organizations. Links are provided for convenience only. We do not control, endorse or accept responsibility for the content, accuracy, security or privacy practices of any linked website, and your use of it is at your own risk and subject to its terms. You may link to the Website’s home page in a manner that is fair, lawful and not misleading, but you may not suggest any association with or endorsement by KSI Law without our written consent.
Electronic communications are not completely secure and may be intercepted, delayed or lost. Sending a document to us through the Website, by email or by any other electronic means does not constitute service of that document on KSI Law or on any of our clients, unless we have agreed in writing to accept service in that manner or the applicable rules of court or legislation provide otherwise.
Our collection, use and disclosure of personal information through the Website is governed by our Privacy Policy. Our commitment to accessibility, including how to request information in an accessible format, is set out in our Accessibility Policy. Both are available on the Website.
The Website and its content are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. While we take reasonable care in preparing the Website, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law we make no representations or warranties, express or implied, as to the accuracy, completeness, currency or fitness for a particular purpose of its content, or that the Website will be uninterrupted, secure or free of errors or harmful components.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, KSI Law and its directors, officers, lawyers, employees and agents are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive loss or damage, including loss of data, profits or opportunity, arising from or in connection with your access to or use of, or inability to use, the Website or any linked website, or your reliance on any content on the Website.
This Section applies only to the use of the Website. It does not limit any obligation we owe to a client under a retainer, which is governed by the terms of that retainer and our professional obligations, and it does not exclude or limit any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
You agree to indemnify KSI Law against any claim, loss, liability or reasonable expense, including legal fees, arising from your breach of these Terms or your unlawful use of the Website.
We may modify, suspend or discontinue any part of the Website, or restrict your access to it, at any time and without notice, including where we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable in Ontario. Subject to any rights you have under consumer protection legislation that cannot be waived, you agree that the courts of the Province of Ontario have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Website.
We may amend these Terms from time to time. The amended Terms will be posted on the Website with their effective date and will apply to your use of the Website from that date. If you do not agree with the amended Terms, you should stop using the Website.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect. Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms is not a waiver of our right to do so later. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Accessibility Policy, form the entire agreement between you and KSI Law regarding your use of the Website. They do not replace or amend any retainer agreement or other written agreement between you and KSI Law.
